This, and its predecessor, was breathtaking.

That prosecutor, as I've said before, was absolutely worthless. While Lee was pontificating on the stand about personal responsibility and how everyone else but Baltar were permitted to get away with their actions, he forgot one very important detail. In most of those cases, the people guilty of those criminal actions did privately acknowledge their guilt to someone else and took as much responsibility as they could without it spilling over to affect the rest of the fleet.

Baltar has never and will never acknowledge any guilt or personal responsibility because he doesn't feel any. That is what, to me, makes Baltar the most frightening character on the show, along with Sharon Agathon. He has no sense of right and wrong and to see Lee defending him on the basis of what other people have done? Wow.

I love that you had Bill acknowledge his own part in the trainwreck the trial turned into. If he had only stopped for a moment to think things through logically, he most likely would have come to the conclusion that Lee *probably* did not spill the beans to Lamkin about Ellen Tigh, because Lee didn't have the beans in the first place.

I definitely hope that in this rumored third part, there is a mention of Lee trying to make amends (not for doing what he thought was right) to Laura for some of things he said to her during "Goodbye, Captain Apollo." Because he was way out of line, especially going after her like that when she was obviously sick.

All Bill wanted to do was cap Batshit between the eyes, or toss him out the airlock, yet he went through the ridiculous trial KNOWING what could happen, because Laura felt that it was needed. Bill did that for *her*. I hope someone points that out to Laura, because it seems that she's feeling more alone than ever now and she needs someone so much, now that the cancer is back.

Thank you so much for the wonderful review! I hope the next part lives up to expectation.

You've hit the nail right on the head; from the very beginning, in Baltar's eyes, nothing he does ... none of the consequences of his actions are ever his fault. That's what makes him compelling to me in a way--every time I think he can't get any lower, he sinks deeper and deeper.

I definitely hope that in this rumored third part, there is a mention of Lee trying to make amends ... to Laura for some of things he said to her during "Goodbye, Captain Apollo."

Sorry, but you might have to wait a bit for it--gotta get mah A/R lovin'in there--and also the long-awaited Kara interrogation, but I definitely will have another Lee/Laura scene before the series is over; I like symmetry.

Bill did that for *her*. I hope someone points that out to Laura

Or she sees it for herself. Don't worry, I tend to like Laura and Bill to have happy endings in my stories, even when I put them through the pretzel-maker of angst. LOLOL!!!!

Thanks again for the great review and kind words!
