Hopefully I'll have the next piece up in a day or two. It's already been through one beta pass, just fixing the last tiny things and deciding where to chop the chapters.

Heh. This one has sooo much h/c. If I'd done the hurt-meme after I posted this, Cougar and Jake would both have one of the longest injury lists I've got. Oh, boys.

Hee! I've pretty much only read Losers fic by people on my flist so I don't really know the fandom. But fandom in general doesn't turn up its nose at odd careers in AUs so I don't see it being a problem. Especially when, if they give it a chance, they'll see him kicking ass before he gets to cut any hair. ;)

Heh. I seriously don't even know where that came from. I think I was trying to build a Jake that's the least-stereotypical gay male, even though he's in the most-stereotypical profession. Glad it puts a smile on your face. :)

I have decided I love this. I decided this when I saw "Summary: AU--..." and then it was reenforced and cemented in gold by the first paragraph.

I almost want to say screw the beta and just give it to me straight, but beta makes everything shiny and purty and everyone likes shiny and purty so I suppose I can wait :) Just...hurry, kay???

Yay! So glad that you got hooked in.

There are a few good notes in the beta (even with it being the second pass) and I'll need to tidy up a few things. It should be pretty quick though. I won't keep you hanging.
