I can't eat a bologna and cheese sandwich without warm memories peppering the crust.
My mom with her masters degree used to have a wonderful job babysitting two kids-Jack and Molly-down in a beautiful house in Croatan. Quite often in the summertime and on school breaks, I'd go with her and read or play with the babies. When lunchtime rolled around, I usually partook in the same menu as the toddlers, and quite often that meant a bologna and cheese sandwich. Say what you want of the health risks, but bologna is from a simpler time. & when paired with a kraft single, bologna is the food of tranquility.
Speaking of food! I'm a MADWOMAN. I can't stop eatinggg. This always happens, and will fade in a few days where I will have no interest in food whatsoever. Not even bologna.
What I will certainly have interest in is Gilmore Girls. Can't stop watching. I'm addicted again. I'm RE-addicted. The script is just so fantastic! I watched a behind the scenes segment with creator Amy Sherman. She talked about the fact that for an average hour long show, the average script is between 50 and 55 pages. One hour of Gilmore Girls requires 80-85 pages. I love the fast talking dialogue heavy with references everywhere from pop culture to literature to 18th Century World Politics. It's a gem, that's for sure.
I'm hoping this semester can scintillate me half as much. Discussions of copyright laws and woman's studies... I'm hoping for something wonderful.
I've got my first tour of the new semester todayy, & I'm not gonna lie... I'm shaking in my boots. Well.. that's not true. I'm not wearing my boots. Howsabout my vans. Mmk.
And yet, the best way to overcome these nerves is to BE. PREPARED. SO I'm heading back to my manual & then on to some reading about feminist theory.
love, peace & DUKESS!
