Was today "Let's All Drive Stupid" Day or something?

God, I swear, about half the drivers in Rockford today must have taken their idiot pills before getting out on the road this morning. There was one little old lady who just had to hug the center line the whole time she was in front of us, and then on the way home a girl who was too busy texting on her cellphone or something to notice that the light had turned green - and that people behind her were honking for her to go.

The guy that took the cake was this semitruck driver we got stuck behind on the interstate. He was in the left lane, with no one in the right-hand lane beside him. Now, I know that semitrucks have a speed limit that's ten MPH lower than cars. But I thought that the Left Lane Law applied to all vehicles on the interstate, and not just cars. And we got boxed in not once, but twice by other semis on the road who were in the right-hand lane. We managed to get into the right-hand lane away from this guy. Finally the guy switches lanes to get onto an off-ramp, almost cutting us off in the process. And what do Mom and I notice as we pass by this guy as he's heading down the off-ramp?

He's on his fsking cell phone!

Boy, I wish I had looked for one of those "How am I driving? Call 555-555-5555" on this guy's trailer. I'd have had a doozy for it.
