Title: I'm Sorry and Thank You
Pairing: Oliver/Chloe
Summary: A scene I wish we saw in Pandora. I always thought Chloe deserved an apology.
Disclaimer: I don't own anything of Smallville, because if I did I would kick the writers' butts. So don't sue I am just playing in the play ground.

Author's Note: This is my first Chloe/Oliver Fic. Comments are love.

She is sitting right where Clark left her, at her desk looking at Lois’ medical records. She hears the door opening but does not look up. She knows who it is.

“Are you here to accuse me to?”

“It was a fair assumption.”

Her head shoots up. “A fair assumption?! What the hell Oliver she is my cousin and I am her only family in the area. I have every right legal or otherwise to look at her medical file. What right did you have? What gives you and Clark the right to automatically think the worse of me? Its okay when I go snooping for you two, but when it’s something that you guys don’t know about, BAM Chloe’s in the wrong. I understand that behavior from Clark, but you Oliver...after everything...I expected more.” She is standing at her desk looking at him her eyes full of emotion a combination of hurt and anger.

He has the good sense to look away. Embarrassed and ashamed that he thought the worse of her, and guilty for putting the hurt in her eyes. She has been through enough without her friends hurting her more than they already have. He wipes his hand over his face pushing back the fatigue that is starting to set in, after being up all night on the phone with specialists from all over the world trying to get the best possible medical care for Lois. He looks back to her, still standing in the exact same spot with the same look in her eyes and now joined by an angry straight line that her mouth has formed. There is nothing he can really say to ease the pain that he has caused her. The pain both he and Clark have caused her. But he can say the one thing he is sure Clark did not say.

“I’m sorry.”

He walks directly in front of the desk and looks directly into her green eyes and repeats it. “Chloe I’m sorry. Your right, you had every right to look at her files. You’re her family and I know how much you love her and would do anything to help her. And I know that would not involve kidnapping her and taking her away from the medical care she needs.”

“But you still thought it anyway.” The anger in her voice was very controlled. He thought it would be better if she just screamed at him. It would make him feel a little less like a jackass, not much less, just a little less.

“Go home Oliver and get some rest. I’ll let you know when Clark has found Lois.” She turns and walks toward the staircase.

“Chloe”

Already up the first step she turns and comes into direct eye level to Oliver, their faces inches away from each other. Before she even could think about taking a step back Oliver takes her hand.

“Chloe, I am sorry, not just for today, but for all the crap that we throw at you. Chloe you mean so much to me, to us and no has sacrificed so much for us.” His other hand moves to her face. “Thank you for still being here. Thank you for watching, for listening and for most importantly, believing...in me. “ The last part he whispers. She does not say anything, she doesn’t even breath. She just stares at him and smiles.

He returns the smile and then steps away, his hand moves from her face and he lets go of her hand. Before he turns to leave he says one more thing. “When all this with Lois is over. You and I are going out and painting this town red. Even heroes need to party.”

Chloe laughs and nods her head. “It’s a date.”

THE END.
