Heart-Breaking Music Dilemma

Feb 19, 2023 12:55

Stevie Nicks, my musical goddess for decades, is coming to Sacramento (and San Francisco) very, very soon. AND I WANT TO GO SEE HER SOOOOOOO BADLY!!!! But I can't, and won't. Can't because I'm saving up for my birthday trip to see Home Free and I only turn 65 once, especially after my 60th got screwed up so badly. And won't because the tickets are so damn expensive. Even the cheap seat that are left are almost more than the front row VIP HF seating are likely to be. It breaks my heart to not go see her when she's so close, but money and birthday and Austin and the boys are telling me "no, maybe next time."

So, my plans so far are split in two. One; the US tour extends to June/July/August and I move forward depending on where I can get a VIP seat. Or two; there's no concert then (hoping for December/January, then) so I just fly to Chicago around the 4th and Amtrak it back here. There are choices then. 1) Go to Red Lobster/Outback on 7/2 (Sunday) then wherever Sac fireworks are on Tuesday, flying out on the 5th. 2)Do Red Lobster/Outback Sunday, Amtrak/ferry to The City on the 3rd or 4th, fly out on the 5th. 3)Amtrak/ferry to The City on the 1st, play tourist until the 5th and fly to Chicago from SFO. 4) IHoP & Red Lobster/Outback on the 2nd (Sunday) and fly out either that night or the next day and catch Chicago's fireworks, Amtraking back on the 5th. Right now it's showing a 50 hour trip, mid-afternoon to mid-afternoon on the 7th for under a thou.

I'm giving Home Free until May 1st to make up my mind.

amtrak, july 4th, san francisco trip, birthday trip, stevie nicks, home free
