iPod troubles in the rain

Actually it was my JBL iPod dock that decided to give me trouble.  I moved it from the bedroom to the futon last night to have a ghost of music near my head, and the speaker didn't work.  The only music I was getting was from from the tinny, tiny iPod speakers.  After fiddling with it for an hour it flew into the wall by the trash can.  I swear I didn't do it.

There was a break in the rain, so I biked over to BestBuy for a new small dock for the bedside.  I brought one home and plugged it in...and no speaker action.  So I called Apple, since the problem had to be the iPod, and after 2 hang-ups I finally got to make an appointment for this afternoon.  Turns out that the bug in the system was the fact that the iPod hadn't been updates in well over a year.  They did it for me for free; the only cost was the wiping out of all the songs and videos on the iPod, as well as all notes, contacts, and calender notes.  Oh, well.  I've been transferring the music from the Mac all evening; I don't think I lost any music or vids.  I'm glad about that.

But the rain had started when I got through at Apple Store and headed out the mall.  My cheap little umbrella got me to BestBuy to return the new dock with my head dry (I hate water all over my glasses) but I was wearing my ballet slippers with no socks and my feet and jeans cuffs got wet.  But I got more money to register and put the 20s in circulation.  Hoping for hits in the next few week.

Then I had to walk from BestBuy, and the rain was coming down harder, with the wind picking up with sundown.  That blasted umbrella didn't last one hard gust, dammit.  I pulled my knit cap down low and held the hoodie down over my face.  But it was nothing to do about my wet feet.  There were so many puddle I didn't find until I stepped in them.  And the road from the parking lot was the worst.  The rocky ground hurt me through the shoes and the flood/puddle was stretched almost all the way across the road, right were there is not street light and it can't be seen.  Ugh!
