going to Kaiser ER

Oct 28, 2010 18:57

I was feeling tired and achy yesterday so I went to bed early last night, around eleven something.  I woke up about 2 hours later in such severe pain in my lower belly it took me over twenty screaming, tear-filled minutes to turn over and get out of bed to use the bathroom.  I went through this before...was it 1997?  I really don't remember when it was...but I do remember it took SFGen 18 FUCKING HOURS!! to get me to a gurney.  Not wanting to go through the agony of trying get dressed, I just pulled on my robe, stuffed a couple books in my backpack, slipped my toes into my warm slippers, and called a cab.  I couldn't find anything closer then ten miles so I ended up calling the police non-emergency number to find an emergency room that was close like I knew there was.  The Kaiser ER is on Morse; I'd been there before when my feet were bothering me a couple years ago.

There was only one other person there so I got seen rather quickly.  They put me on a Dilaudid drip, which made me drowsy and took the pain away.  I got a script for hydrocodone I think.  But all wanted to do was sleep.  I was home in bed before six.  By eleven, I was awake and the pain was back dammit.

So I dress and get the bike in the elevator...and it won't move.  The door won't reopen.  So I spent several minutes on the alarm bell.  Elevator paranoia (not claustrophobia) has set in, so now I place the bike in the elevator, then walk downstairs and push the button down there.  I put the script in and went to IHoP for Belgian waffles and eggs, coffee and milk before going back for the meds.  I still had a lot of time before the script was ready so I went to Barnes & Noble.  I was just going to kill time, but I found three awesome (and expensive) books.  One was filled with great pictures of Egyptian statues and art work.  The other two books were 101 Cult Movies and 101 Action Movies.  Somewhere in there I want to World Market and got three tins of peppermint bark candy.  I think that was after I dropped the books off at home.

So, after I got home the second time I went out again, walking across the lot to Bath&BodyWorks and spent more buck on the new winter scents in body lotions, shower gels, and lip balms.  That's it!  No more!  I won't need any more B&BW stuff for probably a year.  I think I'm gonna give my percent off, buy 2 get 1, and buy 3 get 2 coupons to Adair.  She like their stuff.

Needing food for the pain pills I stuck frozen chicken in the oven.  It came out too hard.  Once this box is gone, I'm sticking with KFC.  After CSI tonight I think I'm going right to bed.
