WE WON!!!!
WE WON WE WON WE WON!!! On Thursday June 14, the Massachusetts state legislature defeated an amendment that would put gay marriage on the ballot next year, so equal marriage is safe! I was at the State House all day Thursday, and it was incredibly exciting. No one knew how the vote was going to go until it actually happened, but several legislators who had been in favor of the amendment changed their votes at the last minute.
I didn't have much time to celebrate, because on Thursday night I came down with the mother of all vicious stomach bugs, and passed out from dehydration on Friday morning. My mum took me to the hospital to get IV fluids, and I'm feeling better now, although I still haven't gotten back to eating normally.
I know I'm very behind with comments and comment responses, but I hope these are both good excuses. ;)
Oh, mylodon, I got a chance to see the Doctor Who episodes with Captain Jack Harkness in them, and I am now a huge fan. Must find out if Torchwood is available in the States...
