Today I have a lovely iced coffee and my results!  Hurrah!  And to add to the hurrahness, I got a 2:1 overall, which is perfectly acceptable.  And I've done better on the whole than I did last semester.  If I can keep up the improvement curve I might be in with a shot of getting a higher 2:1 next year.  I'd like to aim for a first but that's kind of unrealistic if I want to eat, sleep and sometimes see my friends.  You know, enjoy my life...  Speaking of firsts, you may notice I got another one this semester, for Culture.  It was possibly my favourite essay, so that's lovely.  And was also marked by my dissertation tutor, as was Poshumanism where I was only 3 marks off a first.  So I could aim for a first in my dissertation and 2:1s in everything else and be very happy.  It's kind of annoying being 3 marks off a first for 2 modules, and 2 marks off in one.  So close!  But a miss is as good as a mile.  Oh well, I'm still very pleased :).  One 2:2, nine 2:1s and two firsts is a pretty good result for such a slacker as myself.

I celebrated last night by sharing a massive steak with dad (seriously, he claimed it weighed a pound.  Must have come from a big freaking cow...) and, despite the heat, having a nice hot chocolate before bed with a tiny splash of brandy.  I'll celebrate more on Wednesday when Manda and Danielle get here.  It's looking up!
In uke news:  I have managed to successfully tune my uke and can almost kind of play Sittin' on the Dock of a Bay.  Though some of the songs in my books are definitely dodgy... the chords do not sound right at all.
In cooking news: I had a go at making blue cheese crackers.  I made ten tiny little bitesize crackers from the dough, they were yummy enough for me to scoff them all before they even cooled, so they are a success.  Dough has gone in the freezer to be sliced and baked for cheese&wine times later on this month.  Good times!
