Well, tomorrow I will be on my way to Northern Ireland for what I have decided to term 'Sistermageddon' (a catalclysmic event that occurs when the three Finch sisters plus Danielle are all together under one roof). Have to leave at 5am, but it'll be worth it! I'm going to bring gin!
There was some unpleasantness last night. It started out great: Debs and I went for dinner with Sophie and her little sister Hannah (who is about 2 years younger, so we're all of a similar age), which was lovely. However, both Sophie and I like seafood and both had the main course that had seafood in. And I think the restaurant didn't clean the mussels well, or used bad ones, because Sophie's tummy went bad, as did mine. But before that, my face and the tops of my forearms went bright red. It looked like a really bad sunburn, but I hadn't been out in the sun. So after a lovely night out, I ended up running between the toilet and the TV (watching Sex and the City to cheer myself up). *sigh* the next time we go out with Sophie and Hannah, which will hopefully be to do a pub quiz in Conwy, it will not be so disasterous. Because I'm going to avoid mussels from now on. Bastard shellfish suckering me in with its tastiness D:
Oh and I have some things to reccomend:
Firstly, there's this Youtube thing from the University of Nottingham -
the Periodic Videos - where they post a video for each element of the periodic table, explaining a bit about what it is, what it's used for, and if it does exciting stuff, they demonstrate (eg. by blowing up a balloon filled with hydrogen). It takes me back to school science lessons, which I used to love (although ironically, I hated anything exploding... it's not scary on video) and to digging around in the science class storerooms (an unadvertised benefit to being a well behaved geeky kid who teachers foolishly trust :)).
And from the incredibly intelligent to the... less intelligent, but still pretty nice
BooHoo.com - it's one of the better clothes sites I've come accross recently - they've got some pretty nice stuff and their prices are pretty good. I get the feeling that as I get poorer and poorer thanks to the rising cost of living, YE CREDIT CRUNCH OF DOOM and my inability to find paid work this website will be a great comfort to me.
