Day Sixteen
Day 16 - What is the absolute worst pairing?
-Ben/Vestara from Fate of the Jedi , mostly after that horrifying scene in Ascension where Ben physically assaults her and invades her privacy. It doesn't help that Christie Golden really does seem to think it's romantic instead of what it is: that being physical assault. Thank God Vestara left later on. And even with Faux Skywalker all but gnashing his teeth about it in Crucible in a way that calls to mind Kylo Ren before Kylo Ren's creation, I think Vestara did the right thing. No one deserves to be treated like that. No one.
-Ben/Tahiri in Legacy of the Force: Invincible. And I only say pairing because it's clear that Troy Denning was trying to set it up as one, never mind that it's pretty much absolutely sexual abuse. The additional victim-blaming bullshit Denning heaps on an already disgusting situation really just makes things a hell of a lot worse. And playing up the whole myth about how sexually abused men and boys are somehow "lucky", which seems to be supported by the narrative. It's just disgusting, and I'm pretty angry at Denning for writing something like this.
