Sorry for the late comment! I haven't seen this movie yet, but I'm glad that you liked it. :)
/(I know I've seen Melissa McCarthy in stuff like Spy/
Yeah, I haven't seen her other movies like "Tammy" or "Bridesmaids" (because I'm not a fan of gross-out, crude comedy), but I liked "Spy"! I thought that it was a lot of fun and that she was funny and likable in it. :)
/The movie did have its irritating spots, like Marlin seeming to revert a bit to where he was at the beginning of Finding Nemo/
Maybe they ran into the problem of what to do with Marlin since his character arc was completed in the first movie? *shrugs* Sometimes that happens with sequels: either it takes the character a long time to complete their character arc or, if they've already gone through a character arc in the first movie, they either revert to how they were pre-arc or they remain static since they've already learned their lesson.
Hey! *Hugs* How've you been? And yeah, Finding Dory was awesome.
Definite hear hear on the gross-out humor thing. And yeah, she really did do an amazing job in Spy.
And that's definitely possible, regarding Marlin (he definitely did get a lot of character development in Finding Nemo, also known as one of many reasons that movie is awesome). I admit I didn't really know that, about sequels and such.
