Ramblings, recommendations, and -- OH LOOK SNOW! :D

Even though I haven't gotten *too* into LEGACY OF THE FORCE in a long time (though I think it gets more flak than it deserves, really. :( ), I start to remember why I loved Jacen Solo/Darth Caedus in the first place. One memory I have of him is when his Yuuzhan Vong hunter droid (with a heck of a personality. XD) tells him a bit about how he's been muttering secrets in his sleep, including stuff about his daughter Allana. (It's...not as Squicky as it sounds. :/) Considering I had sleeping troubles at the time I was reading this, it was definitely a good way for us to get to know each other a little better (so to speak. XD). That, and his snarky sense of humor and his genuine, absolute devotion to doing what's right definitely helped as well (twisted as his methods were. :/).
It also helped -- in a sense. XD -- that the Jedi were in usual form, i.e. complete and utter useless douchebags. I swear, Jabba the Hutt's spit is more competent than the Jedi sometimes. dx Sometimes I think the EU writers really, really hate Jedi. I mean, between memory wiping Darth Revan and exiling the Exile...yeah. :/
But anyways, back to the point. A lot of people complained about Jacen killing Mara Jade and I can understand why. Sort of. The problem is, he mostly killed her in self-defense. And the only reason Luke got off his ass and started doing something was just because of Mara -- not because he knew that Jacen/Caedus was getting out of control. Really, from my point of view...well, the Jedi aren't exactly the villains, but to paraphrase FilmMasterAdam's review of THE SECRET OF NIMH 2: TIMMY TO THE RESCUE, if being a completely useless, self-centered little weenie is heroic behavior, then Armond White is God. :/
