I just saw a dust devil. It formed in the back pasture, scooping up leaves and bits of hay, whooooooshed slowly across the pasture and finally slammed itself to death on the tree line.
It was about three times as wide as the horses are long. I wonder what would have happened if they'd been in the back pasture? There were watching it, and I'd guess they would have noticed it forming and gotten out, but what if it ran over them? It looked *strong*.
