Well, my internship is going great. I'm in the studio five days a week learning the jewelry trade. I just finished casting my first piece of jewelry last week, which David is letting me keep of course^_^ In case you don't know, I'm living on the island of Maui...which is so amazing that I don't want to ever leave. We usually lay out and boogie board on the beach in the mornings, and do jewelry in the afternoons. Maui is less touristy then you might think- there are only a few areas to avoid (unless you want to do some major shopping at louis vuitton or chanel ^_^) I can actually see myself living here- gwen the jewelry maker???? HMMM.
Evgenia and I explore the island on the weekends in our pimped out yellow suv which reads "CO-ED" on the licence plate. We find this quite amusing considering we both go to an all girls school. We got up early the ohter day to drive up the largest dorment volcano in the world to see the famous sunrise. Although it is around 80 at sea level, it was 35 degress on the top!! Last weekend we completly circled the island, driving across the most dangerous, curving, narrow and beautiful road through the mountains and volcanos I've ever driven on. We made tons of stops to swim in completly tourist-free waterfalls and pools. When we arrived in Hana, the only town on the other side of the island, we were amazed we found a hotel room in a town that only has one freckin diner and general store. Although the other side of the island is sooo beautiful and tropical...I'm not sure I could survive in an area that lacks a proper shopping mall ^_^ Ok, its back to work...toodles
