Barbarella!
Woo hoo! Man, Ive had such a wicked day!
Spent the morning at the most bizare film fest, of all the things to show at half past 12 in the afternoon they chose Barbarella. I knew my local students arts theatre was wakey but I gotta admit this one tops the list, damn good time though. I have to say I never expected to ever see that at the pics but well gotta dig that shag carpet.
I loved the movie for its insane scifi twist and the mad scientist Duran Duran was tre cool ( even more so than the first time I saw it). But really its just about some chick ( in this case jane fonda) gettin half naked and in the famous opening credits floatin around naked in a space ship!To some funky music that will never leave my head, ofcourse.
The music is fun and bouncy, theres a mad scientist, a sex starved bint in amazing outfits that always get torn off,a machine that kills you by pleasure, a big ray gun, shag carpets, plastic guns, an angel, bizare bondage scenes just for the laugh, alien reptiles that pull sleighs ( very plastic with big smiles), creepy twins with dolls that bite, killer budgies, invisible walls with invisible doors and invisible keys, (well obviously), an some guy bein smoked in a bong!
What more could you want? Oh wait, I know Flash Gordon for afters!
