HOLLER.

- THROWING A PARTY ABOUT ASEXUAL RAPHAEL. In denial that this tiff is the end of him and Izzy. I will believe. (Though, I appreciated how this rift was unrelated to the addiction and about their priorities as individuals.)

- Listen, every time you throw out "S*zzy" an angel dies.

- R.I.P. Alaric's bitchface. I'm also cranky about this massacre because it's heralded the arrival of the day-walking Simon book nonsense. Mess.

- Valentine was ludicrous in season 1 but I actually do think he became at least half a character this season?? At least, I totally believe that he totally believes that he loves Jace and Clary and that what he's doing is right, etc. etc. (as opposed to For The Evolz).

- We are meant to be reading Luke that way, tho, IMO? Otherwise why emphasise that he was distrusted by Maia and shaded by Meliorn all episode and whatnot. (So, SO glad Maia didn't forgive Luke.)

- I sorely wish Magnus had a clear character arc of his own. Still, it was emphasised last ep that he's become terribly compromised because of Alec / Clary, and this ep he got to actively save a fellow warlock so I ain't mad rn.

(Real talk though, the thing with this show is that it's so plot driven it doesn't have the space to go in-depth with a lot of conflicts, even the ones it's interested in exploring.)

- tbh I was tickled by Simon the damsel trying to break through to Valentine's hidden soul or some shit.

- I love the fauxcest as much as the next garbage can and don't ship Clary/Simon romantically, but I'm pleasantly surprised by the show actually giving it weight, largely because heroines only being seriously romantically attached to all of one love interest for the entirety of their life is highkey balderdash. Also, my nonexistent soul left the building at Jace!Clary and "I would have let you [kill me]". We'll speak of it no further.

- In other news, Dom is legit out for blood this season. My days of thinking him miscast are far behind me.

- THE MALEC PUT ME AT GREAT RISK OF GROWING A HEART. I actually didn't feel the L bomb was too soon at all, the high-intensity sitch 100% sold it.

Are you telling me there's a big hiatus ahead of us? No one wanted to know that.

- S//zzy, please don't visit this place until season four at the earliest.

- Oh thank fucking god there's someone else who finds that daywalker whatever crap nonsensical. It is so stupid, and just one example of why Simon's dreadful arc is one of the worst things in the books, which is saying a lot.

- Yeah, Valentine just needs some room to breathe. I wish Jocelyn was alive to get some interaction between her, him and Luke because that would be the ultimate.

- I definitely feel like we're meant to be reading Luke that way, and hopefully the show does something about it. He's at least not as bad as his book counterpart, which is a small miracle!

- Simon trying to appeal to Valentine's humanity was so funny. I'm so much more used to lady damsels pulling that shit, so it was almost novel when he was trying it. Hilarity.

- I feel like Clary, Simon and Jace are only really interesting romantically when I see them as an ot3. I can appreciate the fauxcest, and the friends to lovers, and the enemies to lovers thing - but just have all three of them fuck each other and call it a day.

- Dom making me love Jace was the biggest surprise of the season wtf. I hope Jace has more suffering in the cards, Dom is very good at looking pitiful and broken. And please bonus Jace and Maia throwing insults at each other.

- The Malec warmed the cockles of my heart. Even my ambivalent ass had to love it. They're so pretty it's unfair.

This hiatus thing is annoying, what is it with these youth shows doing this all the time.
