Update? + Once Upon a Time/other TV odds and ends + 90s music
So,
+ I'm moving in exactly THREE WEEKS, and I am freaking out slightly A LOT.
+ I have not watched the latest episode of Once Upon a Time (which, yes I am watching that disaster) mainly because I saw a bit of a sneak preview in which Henry (the worst) Mills (the kid) said some obnoxious speech about "good always playing fair" or something and it made my stomach lining cave in on itself. Like, I don't hate kids in my narratives (mostly....) but I do find it really problematic and tiring when a child is inserted in a narrative to shove what could be a complex and fascinating and thoroughly gray morality play into simplistic and dull-as-ditchwater frame of good vs. evil, black and white, blah, blah, blah. And in this show, it's particularly gross because of the accompanying and troubling motherhood/womanhood tropes and adoption stuff with Regina/Emma.
Mostly I just want to bang my head in at everything this show chooses to be and everything it ISN'T. So much wasted potential. But there is always fanfic, I suppose.
+ I watched Pan Am's latest episode. And. Oh dear. Can I just get Karine Vanasse on a television show that isn't pushing cancellation, please? I did enjoy Kate and Maggie's storylines a lot, and Colette owns my heart.
+ I've been having a little nostalgia kick for some reason. It's weird. And remembering the heyday of my childhood. The 90s. Such a terriblemazing decade. I'm watching Clueless this weekend, for reasons. And currently (as in this minute) dancing around my room to this:
Sigh. The Cardigans. Good times.
I miss the 90s. A lot. What musical era are you attached to? As in, not necessarily your favorite, but the one to which you hold the fondest memories or associate most deeply with a certain time in your life? (there was a poll, but it didn't work out: mistakes were made)
The Vampire Diaries tomorrow today! I'm excited.
