The patent lack of respect for Smallville (and Supernatural) fans is appalling. I thought perhaps the cancellation had something to do with the recent assassination attempt and shootings since the subject matter of an upcoming episode might echo that. But no. No. The reasoning is not so altruistic. And if it is - I'll eat my hat and say a toast. But I doubt it.
