OK---now that I got that rant out of the way I can focus on all the AWESOME stuff that you posted here.

Lex/Lana:
I have something kind of blasphemous to admit (at least I'm sure it will be blasphemous to some people): I was never really attracted to Michael Rosenbaum or Lex. I loved him as a character and as a foil to Clark but I never found him to be particularly sexy. Actually, I found him to be rather creepy most of the time. So it's really a testament to the power of the scene in "Wither" that I do find Lex sexy there. Because normally he kind of does nothing for me. And I feel the same way about Lana. I think Kristin Kreuk is a gorgeous woman. Absolutely beautiful. But she's not the type of beautiful that I personally find to be the most attractive. I always thought Kristin was objectively gorgeous but I never found Lana sexy. However, I did find her sexy with Lex. And that scene when they undressed each other was hot.

The Ambush sex swing scene (let's just call it what it was---it was basically the farmboy version of a sex swing) is probably the most overtly raunchy moment ever on the show. Yet, it works for several reasons. 1) Clark and Lois love each other and are in a committed relationship. (This isn't Buffy/Spike in Season 6 of Buffy who were having kinky sex but also abusing each other. ) 2.) It's believable because these two characters have ALWAYS been playful with each other and it makes complete sense that their sex life would be playful and fun becuase playfulness has been the foundation of their relationship for the last 7 years. If any other woman on the show suggested this kind of sex--I'd call BS. But the playfulness is a staple of THIS relationship so it's in character. 3) It works because the characters have absolutely NO SHAME about it. These are two people who are madly in love and sex between them is presented as a good and healthy thing. Therefore, if they want to f*** in broad daylight on a porch swing...it's all good. It's healthy. Actually, that was one of the things I took away most from that swing---the healthy nature of their sex life and their desire. It was a rare moment where the show seemed to grasp the concept that lust and love CAN and DO coincide in the best relationships.

And Clark having to literally put his hand over his erection in front of Lois' father will never not be hilarious.

I agree with you about Tess. I do think she's the hottest with women and sadly, I think she only really works in really disturbed, messed up scenerios. And I feel weird saying that because I do LIKE Tess as a character. But she's also a character that I find to be strong and pathetic at the same time. Every sexual situation she has ever been put in has been really messed up.

I think that's part of the reason why I can never really get into her sexy scenes. Like...I can see on the surface that they are "hot" but I always find myself thinking that she's just so messed up and it pulls me out. The Tess/Clark Luthor scene was a good example of that. That scene was all Tom. His sexuality owned that scene. But I couldn't really get into the kiss because I just kept thinking..."This is so disturbing." Which I guess was the point. I was supposed to find it disturbing.

It's just weird because I love Tess and I love the overt sexual energy that she gives out all the time. But her sexy "scenes" don't usually turn me on...they make me uncomfortable.

I always go back-and-forth on Michael Rosenbaum. Interestingly, I don't find him sexy outside of his role as Lex, and as Lex, I'm not sure where I draw the line between 'sexy' and just really compelling to me. But there's something in his line delivery that used to give me tingles from the get-go. Kristin Kreuk's Lana I never found sexy until she started getting together with Lex tbh, mainly because the show didn't want us to see her as a sexual being - since, you know, sex is bad, evil, wretched, all that good stuff ::eye roll::. Anyway, I love that scene, they worked so well as a couple when the show let them.

Guh, Ambush. YES. I was honestly surprised to see the show have explicit reference to kinky sex in a happy, functional relationship. Usually, they leave all the fun stuff for crazy ships. It's just fun to see them playing, more of this show. Is it too much to ask for a DP copy room make-out session?

Yeah, Tess, really is so gay - in the best way, if only the show would let her. But instead it's all these men. I didn't think they needed to go there but they did and that scene is so messed up. I should say that I find Tess/Lois scene in Odyssey 1000 times hotter than any of her scenes with men, and that's telling to me.
