Your review is amazing! All I could do was scream, curse, and flail like there was no tomorrow. This is so much better.
Simon got a blow job from a fake!Alisha... what if this person is a fake!Simon of some sort? Or a villain? I see devils in every corner, I tell ye!
I didn't even think about that, but if it's true, I will be gutted. Like you, I'm suspicious. I know he isn't telling her something (I think she's dead in the future as well)but he HAS to be Simon. I mean look at the way he smiled when he told her he was from the future. PURE SIMON.
As for the sex scene, I felt uncomfortable watching it but I loved it. I think it was handled beautifully. Iwan and Antonia really got their moment to shine as actors (not just with the sex but their scene together in general) and when I watched future!Simon and present!Simon in this episode...Iwan played them so distinctly that I want to applaud him. Two completely different characters, yet you can still see parts of present!Simon in the future one. And Antonia in her scene with present!Simon made me want to cry. She brought it.
And I'm so happy about the tattoo subplot because not only did it show Simon being smart, preceptive, and his all around awesome self, but I really needed Nathan's comedic timing to take the edge off. I don't know about you but future!Simon and Alisha's scenes were so intense and unexpected that I needed something familiar to keep me from imploding.
I dread the awful American adaptation, and you know it'll come since US networks are determined to ruin any excellent British show. I can just imagine how lame it will be. Sigh.
I already said this on one of those shitty "Skins USA" trailers that I will burn something down if they try to remake Misfits. No one can play these characters except their respective actors. Can you picture someone other that Iwan and Robert playing Simon and Nathan? Ugh. I feel sorry for that dude on the US version of Skins that has to play Tony. Nicholas did it better and was hot while doing so.
Oh thank you. I had a brief period of ten minutes of vague lucidity and then continued to scream like a mad person. I've been staring at pictures and re-watching scenes on repeat for hours. It's really just gotten to the ridiculous stage now.... I don't even want to be saved anymore, lol.
I know, so anxious to find out the secret. I'm almost positive that he IS Simon too --- and yeah, all the little things that made me think of Simon, when he tripped in her bedroom and scrambled to hide; and the way he smiled sometimes; the videos. I like that in the beginning, Alisha says something about 'you're supposed to know these things', and present!Simon generally does KNOW things, he's the smartest and most logical of the lot, perceptive etc. as you pointed out. But then we see that actually embodied in future!Simon. So I feel like they're making little links between the two of them and they could either turn it over on the head or actually it just is Simon and he's got whatever motives he's got for coming (hopefully not evil, please!!!)
Yeah, definitely needed the tattoo plot to balance things out, the Simon/Alisha scenes are so intense, mind blowing.
I need to start watching Skins, I'm almost scared to pick it up because I know I'll be obsessed, lol. Gosh, the horror of them trying to cast Simon and Nathan, I keep having recurring nightmares of a Matthew Lillard-type guy as the American Nathan, blech. Fingers crossed they don't do it. Oy.
Also, I'm friending you, if that's cool? You don't have to friend back or anything I just haunt your comments etc. a lot so methinks I should make it official, lol.
Oh I friended you back. I'll be interested to see what you have to say when future episode airs so it's good to have you on my f-list.
Skins is great, but I couldn't bring myself to watch after the first generation left. I know people say that the second gen are good too, but I found it so hard to let go of Tony, Sid, and all the others that I didn't even want to bother. I told myself I would watch them one day.
Hm, then I'll definitely try to pick up the first generation. It sounds similar to Degrassi, but miles better, and I know a lot of folks who hated the generations of Degrassi that came after the first.
The concept of Skins just sounds so cool. So hopefully this Christmas when I'm snowbound I'll be able to get started.
