"study links abortion to distress"uhg. I hate studies like these. in the first place, having an unexpected/unwanted pregnancy is distressing, and then not to mention that at least in the US women are bombarded with anti-abortion, guilt inducing media ( Read more... )

Plus it's kind of, I dunno, a stressful procedure, outpatient or not. I'm sure that people find having, say, moles removed a little stressful as well, and they don't have to walk past people protesting their decision on the way into the clinic.

also, it pisses me off b/c i would say a more valid study would be comparing the stress of abortions to stress when women have children that are 'unwanted'/ were pressured into not getting abortions by family.
at least i think so.

Yeah, I'd like to see a measure of the "distress" experienced by women carrying an unwanted pregnancy to term.

Or maybe a comparison of the "distress" women feel getting a legal abortion in a Dr. office, vs. in an alley? vs. shoving a knitting needle in their cervix?

The possibilities are endless, really.
