Gotta love The Princess Bride. I bought the DVD for my friend last month, thinking it'd be a great pre-wedding present... but then I visited her and saw that she already had it. *sigh* So I kept it for myself. :D LOL!
Sure, I'll add you too. I'm glad you like the ficafest! It's a lot of fun and I just can't wait to read them. Harry's hard to write - especially his grieving state - but some authors do get his characterization almost perfect.
It was amazing how much crap you had to wade thru to find a couple good stories, especially after OoTP. It seemed to me that these people were seriously into torture of the characters. I had the same problem with my search for quality H/G fics (thus The Firelight and the H/G Fic-A-Fest). I started off at FF.net and whoa - is that a hard place to find a good fic. I guess, depending on your interest and tastes, I could rec some good fics -- both H/G and other ships. :) One of my all-time favorite fics is actually a gen-fic. Lesson Plans by Magnolia Mama on TFL is brilliant.
But I soon found that I also enjoyed D/G fics (do not shoot me, please, hear me out) though I still cannot do H/Hr.
LOL, no worries. I'm not a D/G fan but I won't ostracize you for it. In fact, another good flist friend is also a big D/G fan. But I agree with you, I just cannot stomach the thought of H/Hr. Even before I started shipping, I never believed that Harry and Hermione would get together or even want to get together. Love can be platonic
