Hubby bought me Yourself ! Fitness for the XBox

My husband was a sweetie today. He gets a discount at a game shop at the mall. He doesn't work there anymore, but he did a holiday gig for them last year, and the manager still gives him a discount.

So, he bought me Yourself ! Fitness for the XBox today.

I AM LOVING IT ! L O V I N G IT ! I just love it.

One little thing I don't like is that the Basic Step is always done on the same leg, so you have to know to alternate your leg every other time she does the basic step. They could have solved that by simply programming Left Basic and Right Basic as 2 separate moves instead of just the Basic Step.

Oh, and another wee little thing I didn't like was that when she would say do an exercise starting with your left leg, she meant her left leg, but it would be my right. Same when she said right leg, she meant her right leg, not mine. Those are little things, though.

The moves are very simple, but can be heightened in intensity. You even have the option of pausing during the workout, and asking her to increase or decrease the intensity.

I am just loving it. I really enjoyed it. REALLY enjoyed it. It surprises me how much I like it. I was thinking it would be sort of a novelty thing for me, maybe something different to do every once in a while. I am completely surprised at how much I love it. I am going to use this ALOT. I'll use my videos too, but will incorporate this into my rotation, even doing vids and this program on the same day.

One of the things I think is kinda cool is that you get rewards for sticking with the program. After doing your first 3 workouts you get to open up a new environment. After your next 5 workouts you get to open up another new environment. After your next 7 you get to open up the last bonus environment. Each time you get a new environment you also get a new selection of music to add to your list.

Another cool thing is that she tests you on a few things before setting up your recommended program. After each set of 10 workouts you do the test again, to chart your progress. I was able to do everything in the test perfectly except for the jumping jacks and the pushups. The jumping jacks I could only do for a minute instead of 2 minutes, and I could only do 27 pushups all at once. Everything else I was at the top of the range. It will be interesting, though, to see how I improve.
