Asking a big favor
So, I rarely bug my f-list for things, or even post very much about my personal life. This is a thing of huge importance to me and someone else I love dearly, though, and I'm hoping that I can count on you guys now.
dance_the_code is someone I have cared for very deeply for a very long time. Since the moment we met over fifteen years ago, she has been one of the pillars of my life. And one of the foundations of her life has been the pursuit her doctorate. Obtaining her PhD been her goal since she was a child.
Tomorrow, November 2nd at 12:30 PM, after many arduous years of study, hard work, blood, sweat and tears, Dance is finally defending her doctoral dissertation in the field of Criminal Justice.
I am asking everyone on my f-list to take a moment, sometime between now and the start of her defense, and send up a little prayer to whatever pantheon in which you believe that she will be successful. This has been such an incredibly tough journey emotionally for her, and while I have faith that her intelligence and abilities will see her through, a little extra push of good will behind her would be so appreciated.
You have all been so good and supportive and kind when I've needed you, and I am endlessly grateful to all of you. Please take a moment to wish this beautiful, brilliant woman luck.
