"Fucking like rabbits" was the technical term for their post nuptial activities. Adam had a feeling, added with his talk from Chessa. Still, he figured that his wife was a healer, she'd know, wouldn't she? She hadn't mentioned anything so he had stopped thinking about it.
He looked up, his mouth full of beats when she took his hand. He nodded. "Of course, I will. Is everything okay?"
"Everything's fine," she nodded, smiling a little more surely now, "I mean, I suspect everything is beyond fine." She bit her bottom lip gently, then blushed just a little.
"You mean..." Adam asked, tilting his head as he processed the thought. He kissed her knuckles. "Wow. I mean I thought maybe, because you'd been acting a little off, but I wasn't sure..."
Adam didn't hide his happy grin one bit. He too REALLY hoped. He also couldn't help but feel relieved that she suspected too, that she wasn't "off" for any bad reason. "I was talking to Chessa about it actually, and she said that sometimes women don't notice because they are too close or something. She thought she had the flu when she was pregnant with Hannah."
Em reached out and touched his cheek softly. "Well, at least I don't feel completely oblivious now." She blushed slightly. "I... um," she started, "I AM late. And that's never happened. So." She grinned. "We'll know tomorrow for sure."
"Yeah, either way, as long as you are okay, we're okay," Adam smiled happily at his wife. "Late for what?" Yes, he actually didn't know what she meant.
She grinned and touched his cheek again softly. "I already got the day off, so either we can celebrate together after the appointment or we can try more." She wrinkled her nose and laughed softly.
"A million," she teased, then pulled a face. "What was it you once teased me about? 12? A full dozen, like eggs?" She laughed softly, moving her chair next to his and nuzzling into his neck. "Four? Four is a good number, yes?"
He laughed. "You do realise that Harry Potter is my Uncle, the man who had 10 kids because his godfather teasingly told him to," Adam put his arms around her, closing the distance between them. "Four is a good number. I want our children to have sisters and brothers to grow up with."
He grinned again. "You do realise if you are with child, then we fufilled that old joke, 'they got married and five minutes later she was pregnant'"
"Oh dear MERLIN," she murmured, raising an eyebrow at him. "We are not having 12. I don't care who kids about it." She laid her head on his shoulder. "I want that too. Siblings are wonderful."
She snickered quietly. "You do realize if I AM, I likely got pregnant before we got married..." She let that hang in the air between them, the smile never faltering. How amusing if they'd gotten pregnant the morning they went after her grandmother. Something good to come from something bad...
