Happy pi (and pie) day! I made a cherry pie, although I can't taste test it yet -- I'm taking it to dinner at my parents' house tomorrow. Unfortunately, the house smells a little like burnt crust now, since the edges got slightly singed. At least that's somewhat of an improvement over the reek of bolognese that's been lingering for days. I made it for the first time in the slow cooker over the weekend, and it stunk up the place -- including the coats in the hall closet. I could smell it on me in the car on the way to work. Ugh. And it's been too cold to open the windows to air everything out. Note to self: don't ever make that recipe in the winter.
