Shocked the hell out of myself by writing a ficlet.
Will post at some point when my brain is actually awake and non-foggy, and I can be sure that what came out isn't pure drivel (which is always a distinct possibility).
Dear student who didn't want me to write him up: If you get kicked off the soccer team from one more write-up, it is not my fault you misbehaved. Complaining that I didn't do enough to make you stop merely proves that you truly belong to Generation Me-Me-Me. Maybe the reason you're being kicked off the team is that you care more about having fun than about earning your place.
Am reading the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy's entry on Schelling. Naturally, I'm in love all over again. I'm so predictable. And easy.
This Sunday's topic is on Empedocles, my favorite pre-Socratic philosopher. He wrote all about how the dynamic of Love and Strife is what creates reality. And this Sunday is Valentine's Day. Now, up until two weeks ago, Empedocles wasn't due for presentation until next Sunday; but since friend E.'s humanist class skipped a week, Empedocles moves up. Love and Strife on Valentine's Day.
It's fun when the universe ensures synchronicity.
