I'll admit it--I'm one of those horrifying disgusting people who'll drink (even like!) day-old coffee. I think it tastes good--the fresh bitterness is cut by the time--and I especially like the way it foams up when I put the sugar in. Granted, this is probably something similar to the wee beasties farting in champagne, but oh well. It's never made me sick, and, like I said, it tastes good. (I don't, however, drink two-day-old coffee.)
I'm very bad about what I put in my coffee. My joke is that I like a little coffee with my cream and sugar. Most days I put two teaspoons of sugar, plus some milk. Or I'll put in a teaspoon and a half of sugar, and the same of hot cocoa powder. When I'm really bad I'll put in sugar, cocoa, and creamer powder as well as the milk. One or two of the schools have this wonderful brewer where you put in a coffee pod, a quarter, and you get a fresh cup of coffee. They almost always have hot chocolate you can add to the coffee, and I'm very bad about that.
The reason all this is funny is because I grew up hating coffee. I still can't stand it black. But my desperate need for mental energy in the morning drove me to desperation, and I had to learn to like, well, a little bit of coffee with my cream and sugar.
The History Channel's show "Clash of the Gods" is about Lord of the Rings! And next up it's doing Beowulf! I'm a very happy morning geek.
