A gorgeous article about Obama and his faith.
The more I read about his faith, his ethics, his understanding of Christianity, the more I want the man in the White House. I don't like his recent declaration of supporting "faith-based initiatives," but they're there, they're probably not going away, and I'd rather have someone who will at least keep their financing to purely secular activities than someone who will claim First Amendment freedoms while encouraging Christian-centric programs.
In other news, I am delighted that I was able to order Pantheism: A Non-Theistic Concept of Deity through an interlibrary loan. And, theoretically, NetLibrary will eventually put it online in an ebook format.
(A new--free!--NetLibrary membership has me drooling and rubbing my hands in glee. Did someone say Alfred North Whitehead?)
It'll take a few weeks, but I'll have it my hands (temporarily), and I won't have to pay an exhorbitant fee to read it.
...Undoubtedly I will jam LJ's netwaves with post after post after post of commentary on the book, as well. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
