Since the application that transfers tweets to LJ doesn't work anymore, I thought I'd cut & paste in my thoughts from last night.
- Wristbands snapped, rough schedule drafted (http://sxsw2010.sched.org/jenni_b), buckets of caffeine chugged, earplugs bought. Let's do this.
- Freelance Whales: Impressive, well-orchestrated, mature. (And the xylophonist looks like zahav.)
- Brahms: Danceable and fun. Check them out if you're in a Talk Talk sort of mood.
- Blew off Michael Franti Damien Marley and Nas for Hesta Prynn: totally worth it. Glam pop w/hooks. Northern State was good, but this is better. http://twitpic.com/198pgn
- Caught the 2nd half of Ivan & Alyosha. The sunny side of indie: they'll make zillions on soundtracks. http://twitpic.com/198smg
- Rest well, Alex Chilton. How many of these SXSW acts wouldn't be where they are without him?
- Kinda surprised I got into Club de Ville ... Here We Go Magic was dark and proggy, while Middle East was sort of a louder Iron and Wine.
- Got bored with Middle East, but Asteroids Galaxy Tour bring the party.
- You Say Party! We Say Die! I say thanks for that delicious shot of Romeo Void/Toyah Wilcox new wave! It fits in well at Elysium.
- Two words: Melissa Ferrick. Two more words: acoustic goddess. http://twitpic.com/199vrd
- Everybody Was in the French Resistance ... Now! Interesting. The singer looks like Mike from "The Young Ones." http://twitpic.com/19a5fq
