OTHER THINGS

1. I like that Santana is observant enough to deconstruct Shoe's system and just be casually sarcastic about it. She and Mercedes are probably the only ones who think about this at all, IMHO. Maybe Kurt when he wants Rachel's Wicked solos.

2. Brittany quotes! <3. Sometimes I think Brittany should be fleshed out as more than just a vehicle for Gay Sharks - why are she and Santana friends, anyway? What is their friendship like? - but then I laugh too hard at the Gay Sharks and think fleshing will ruin the magic.

3. You accomplished something which I did not think was possible - explaining Santana's weird behavior in this episode. The Boy Is Mine is about Quinn now! SOLUTIONS THROUGH FEMSLASH LADIES AND GENTLEMEN OF LIVEJOURNAL

4. Basically I lap up all Internetz that can give Santana any kind of motivation, because I love her and want her to be more important on the show. I think the writers are scared of her because she's an unrepentant slut and has ambitions that work differently from either Rachel's or Sue's. Give me my Santana episode, goddammit! There's a Brittany episode this season, and Brittany doesn't even have a last name.

Unless they plan on writing her as a demon, I would hope there's something underneath!

1. I think you're right on this account, and if they spent any time talking, Santana and Mercedes would probably jive on that level. I doubt the race issue has occurred to Kurt much beyond wanting his girl Mercedes to get the chance to shine more! (Actually, in his "Rose's Turn" he does this move mocking Rachel, and while it is HILARIOUS, I think the anger is a bit misdirected.)

2. We talked about this in realtime format. :P

3. Honestly, as much as I complain, having a show that has writing problems is a nice home for a fanficcer to 'fix' things that don't make sense in canon. Femslash fixes so much…

It would be awesome, though, if they decided to give Santana some backstory and motivation, instead of just randomly using her as a prop for other story lines. It would be awesome if they didn't treat any of their characters as props, actually!

I'm sure Brittany has a last name. She just forgot what it is :(
