I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday yesterday:)

We spent Christmas Eve at home with my parents, Roland and his girlfriend and her little girl. It's amazing how the presence of a child can really light everyone up. I never thought I'd see my dad all gushy over a kid, but we braved the murderous crowd that is a closing Walmart just to get corn on the cob since my dad knew that's what Zaria liked. He's going to be such a spoiling Grandpa. We had some yummy food, played wii bowling (a sight I NEVER thought I'd see with Dad vs my brother), and just had a nice relaxing time. Kev couldn't come thanks to his car breaking down, but I'm going to cheer him up at the birthday party this saturday and catch him up on the celebrating he missed.

I spent Christmas day with the Puerto Rican half of the family. There was good food and good company. Every year I visit them and marvel at how much older and more mature my little cousins get each time. They did so well handing out gifts to everyone and getting theirs last. And of course, there was the feast of rice with gondales, Grandpa's special slow roasted pork, and rum cake!

I took my first video 'documentary' on all the different types of puerto rican christmas food! It's crappy and shaky, but it's my first video and I am so excited that I got this camera for christmas! Best gift EVER! Especially considering it was from my grumpy dad who hardly ever Christmas shops for people. If you're morbidly curious, check out my shoddy attempt at movie making here. Beware, it will make you hungry.

I also got a book of fairy tales from my aunt, which really made me smile as she handed it to me and said "I know you'll be illustrating the next one." It's so nice to know that even though I don't see them every day, they're still thinking of me and wishing for my success. Family isn't perfect, but its ours.

So here's a happy holiday from mine to yours:D
