In the words of Eeeer...............tireeeeered

Got up at 7:3, late for me. Made coffee, had cereal and Kitty got up.

Today was the day to start by visiting a cool fabric store. It had all the cool prints I've seen at some of the fabric shows, the kind you make neato Drake-type rayon shirts from. Across the street, some kind of a Harley gathering was happening, there were tons of really cool rides.

From there it was to a thrift store (bought 2 paperbacks and 1 old pattern. Purchase total: 1.49).

Most of the day was spent on the UC Santa Cruz campus which is absolutely awesome. It's as naturally landscaped as they could get with huge redwoods and oak trees. All the buildings are nestled amongst the trees and stuff. As we were crossing one campus, a deer was busy eating some leaves. She paused to watch us but stayed while we carefully and slowly walked around her. I had to take a picture, of course. We also saw the koi carp pond in which there are some HUGE koi. They're very friendly, nibbling at fingers and coming up to investigate.

Hiked all over the campus, crossing bridges, staring at trees and getting tired and sunburnt. But very worth it.

From there, we cruised along the street that paralleled the beach. Stopped at Natural Bridges and gazed at the water and waves. From there, Kitty wanted to go to the O'Neill surf shop but on the way there, I spotted a store that had vintage Hawaiian shirts and stuff. If I had money, I would have bought a shirt. If I had money and was a tiny person, I would have bought one of the cute vintage dresses I saw.

Just finished a de-lish dinner of tandoori chicken, salad and garlic bread with lots and lots of butter. Dessert will be home made ice cream and more apricot wine.

Off to Mom's tomorrow, apricot pie and then it's home again for me.
