Andreas and I had an interesting evening.
It all started when he got up from his game to answer nature's call.
I was busy on my computer, when for a moment to think, I looked at the wall.
The place was quiet, the lights were low, nothing was stiring, oh wait, there went a mouse!
A little brown field mouse, I can only guess came through the window into the house.
It scuried, not really in a hurry, accross our floor, and I called Andreas, "Come look, come see!
He came running, and saw it emerge from under the chair,
He exlaimed, "Let's try to catch it, if you dare!"
The hunt was on, but the poor little mouse from fright,
Had already run under our cabinet, out of sight.
After searching and prodding, we realized it had hidden, of all places, behind our refridgerator.
Now, our fridge is small, like in a dorm room, built in under our sink and stove.
We pulled it out, and anything else too, trying to guess where the little guy would rove.
No matter our cunning traps and blocks, we only saw it a time or two.
After it vanished, we tried turning the lights off, to see what it would do.
Of course, it was gone, and all we had around us was dissarray.
Though we built a trap of Legos,
We think it ran under the door, away from its human foes.
It was three in the morning, before we finally turned in for the night
And when we got up in the morning, the food was still there, without even the tiniest bite.
