okay. so i'm a sap. i'll admit it in this instance. i don't know who has and hasn't seen this, but i had to share because this just seriously touched me. i won't bore everyone with the spiel. if you want to know what i'm talking about, check under the cut. honestly, its worth it. this made my day.

a news clip on Yahoo caught my eye the other day, but i spaced on it and didn't listen. then last night, "Inside Edition" had a small snippet about this same clip. watching it, though it was only a minute or two long, had me in tears.

Susan Boyle is a single woman who's never been married. she claims she's never been kissed. and its been her lifelong dream to become a professional singer. she's rather an unassuming lady who hails from Scotland. she spent her life caring for her mother and still to this day lives in the house where she was born. now that her mother has passed, she thought she'd try to fulfill her dreams. it was apparently her mother's dying wish. so Susan tried out for "Britain's Got Talent."

when this frumpy, matronly looking woman stepped out onto the stage, it was plain to see on everyone's face that they thought it was a joke. that she'd be someone to laugh at. and then Susan opened her mouth.

below is her first round audition for "Britain's Got Talent." she chose to perform I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables. pay close attention to the faces of people from the beginning, when she steps out on stage, to the moment she starts singing. including the judges. and, i think, the crowd was on their feet before ten seconds had passed. also, listen to the comments made at the end.

i also watched a couple of news clips that centered on this woman's amazing performance. one of the stations in London went to the West End and spoke to the cast of Les Miserables about this clip, after showing it around, the cast agreed that it was one of the best they'd ever heard. the producer of the stage show saw it, too. i think he might be interested.

i hope wonderful things come to Susan Boyle. she really deserves it.

...

yeah. i cried.
