since i've gotten the dishes done and am currently stuffing my face with yummy foods (and ogling some serious yumminess, image-wise), all in an attempt to get the brain cells moving faster than "Dead and Frozen," i thought i might attempt a meme to do the kick-starting.

1. What did you do in 2011 that you'd never done before?
this might not sound like a really big deal, but i posted some of my slash fics to various comms here on LJ, which is something i've never done before. (duh! isn't that the question?) this may seem like an odd thing to use here since i post fic online for all manner of virtual strangers to find, but it was still one of those big deal type things for me because... yeah. you all know how i feel about my writing and all.
2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
i don't make New Years resolutions. i never have. i likely never will. because i know exactly how lazy i am and just what i will do. which is about nothing. so why bother? so i suppose i kept the one i unconsciously make every year, which is to not make any resolutions.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
no. not that i'm aware of. unless you count Mystery from the one fic i wrote this year.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
nope. which is a good thing.
5. What countries did you visit?
none physically. but mentally... hell, i was all over the map.
6. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011?
drive. seriously. just... drive. i really need some of that.
7. What date from 2011 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
i don't know that i'll really remember any dates from this year so much as i'll remember the big events that took place. i don't know that anything was so huge that i'll actually bother to remember the date.
wait. i take that back. there is one date, though i can't name it off the top of my head right at the moment. but i do know it was a lovely Sunday morning. when my spawn graduated high school. that is one of my best memories of the entire year.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
uh... i really don't know. anyone got suggestions? cos i'm serious. i don't know what i'd consider my biggest achievement of the year. i don't think i really achieved anything.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
nothing worse than a cold
11. What was the best thing you bought?
uh... probably books. fail safe. they can never really be disappointing or anything.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
no one i know. probably all the selfless humanitarians who gave more to others than they thought of themselves.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
i can actually name a few. politicians. some of the protestors. various others who were just utter jackasses this year.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
the Avengers trailer. gods, i'm so easy... its pathetic.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
this is a toss up. gay rights, particularly as they pertain to marriage. cos, seriously, love is blind. it doesn't see race, color, creed, sexual orientation, religious affiliation or any of that crap. it just is love. and then there's always the never ending debate about what rights a woman has in relation to her own body. cos, you know, it isn't practical to let us make decisions for ourselves. my gods, we might be wearing pants and getting jobs next!

i had my moments where i missed my daddy. and my grandma.
