Tomorrow is my 21st birthday. It is also the day that school starts back up.
I can't say that I'm excited to go back to school because, really, I am not.
The week before Winter Break (remembered fondly) was the first week my classmates and I started to work on each other. We started with film placements (by the way, having students shove various types of film in your mouth for three hours straight is not something that I recommend). Tomorrow we'll be rotating through polishing, fluoride, dental dam placements, impressions and sealants. I'm equally nervous on working in a person's mouth as I am having someone else working in my mouth. Especially dental dam.
I'm not exactly sure when, but we'll be heading back to the Dental College to help out there. Also, Red River's clinic will be opening soon so we'll be taking actual patients. People will soon be coming in to have their teeth cleaned, getting Intra-Oral Assessments, and a whole bunch of stuff. Not to mention all the tests will be back to slap us in the face. I have a big test this Wednesday, actually. I've been studying for it, but it's a big test. I have also been slowly working on a take home test for my psychology class.
As I mentioned, tomorrow I'll be 21. Legal pretty much everywhere. Not that it matters because I've been able to drink booze here in Canada for two years now, but I can now sneer at that jerk at the liquor store in Grand Forks. A year ago my parents went to the booze store after shopping in Grand Forks, North Dakota and my sister and I were tagging along. Apparently you can't even be in the store and under 21 in the USA. The dude there gave a mighty sneer and pointed to the exit. Seems rather ridiculous to me.
Nothing exciting is happening tomorrow. Jeff and I might be going out for supper, but as it's a school night I'm not entirely sure... not that my birthdays ever end up being anything but boring.
