Hair tugging frustration, arg.

As I mentioned in my last update, I was accepted into the Dental Assisting Level II program. Yay!

Now, in preparation for the course, this summer I must take Emergency First Aid and CPR Level C. That's where the problem actually starts. See, a lot of places don't offer these courses during the summer and the places that do offer them, don't have the dual class of EFA and CPR Level C. Which is fine, technically, though it'd be more expensive to take them separately... that and I haven't been able to find a place that offers just EFA.

I've found one place that is offering EFA + CPR C, but the entire thing is just one day and what they offer is "certification cards". I have sent them an e-mail asking if the certification cards were the same as "certification" as well as a question pertaining to the program itself... they didn't answer that question.

I've also sent a letter to the... whoever deals with this stuff's office at the college about the certificates, but I haven't gotten a reply back. Sigh.

My dad's a paramedic, an Emergency Medical Supervisor. One would think he knew where I can get this done. Hell, that he can teach this to me himself. Nope. He suggested Criticare, a place that actually trains paramedics, but their public education information was rather limited. Plus, my dad actually knows who owns the place, but hasn't gotten a reply back from him, either.

My aunt suggested St. John's Ambulance, but they don't offer EFA + CPR C, just Basic First Aid and Level C. That course is a two day course. I've also sent them a letter asking if it's better to take a dual course or take each separately as well if they offered EFA + CPR C (they don't), but like the other place, are selective when it comes to answering questions.

WHY?!

Now, my aunt works at the Health Sciences Centre as a MRI Technician and told me that a nurse is going to be teaching a First Aid (and possible CPR Level C) course this summer. She's looking into that for me, so hopefully I can get the courses that way with proper certification. Worst scenario the nurse is just doing EFA and I have to take CPR C elsewhere, but that's okay.

This entire thing is a huge pain in the ass. The college used to offer these two courses in preparation for DA II, but they don't anymore. *headdesk*

In other news, my brother graduates high school today. My little brother.
