Summary:

Shit. The smell of sauté vegetables trickles my nose. I bet it’s Kouta and his breakfast duty. Kouta. Tsk. That brother of mine. Stubborn, grumpy and selfish little brat and yet dad really loved him. He always reminds me of our Dad. Speaking of it, do you know what Dad’s last words to me? “Take care of Kouta” Heck yeah, Dad. Like I would.

Okay, Kei. Focus on your job. Just a few more line and my job will be done. My professor has this project and he doesn’t have time to do it. So, in exchange for some money and obviously, grades, I do it.

When I stretch my back, Yuuya knocks the door for my breakfast. Just in time I draw the last line and my empty stomach. By the way, Yuuya’s knocks sounds softer from the other boys. He always knocks twice before calls my name and his idiotic grin was displayed when I opened the door. I step aside to let him and my breakfast tray in.

“Have you done your project?” he asked as his eyes catch the view of my messy desk. I nod and take the tray to my bed and start decorates my bread with the kiwi, raisin, and honey and more honey. As finishing I spray the whipped cream and dig in.

“Disgusting,” comments Yuuya as he sits on bed facing my back. His fingers start to work on my shoulder. Ah~ Yuuya’s massages is the best of all, Hikaru’s is nice too but the way Yuuya’s kneads on my muscle (if I have ones) is way more gentle than Hikaru.
“Thank you,” I say as I drink the milk from the cartoon after finished my second sandwich. Ah~ nothing better than full stomach and Yuuya’s massages for my morning.

Yuuya now sits on my swivel chair, eyeing the blue print. He shrugs as if telling me it’s not a big deal. That’s Yuuya, he always nice and never mind doing big favor for someone else --- “Have you made up with Kouta?” --- until he speaks that name.
Everyone in this household knows my eyebrows will twitch once my mood turns bad and I have this “sour evil smirk” on my face. I bet Yuuya notices this too as he kicks the floor and the chair slides swiftly, stopped right before my bed. He reaches out for my head and pats me like kitten. His eyes is staring at mine, deep and long as if telling me he will wait as much it takes to make me apologize to Kouta. The very same gaze of dad’s when he scolded me.

I sigh in defeat and avert my gaze, “Fine. I will, later.”

He smiles and pats more and I couldn’t help but reply his smile. I mutter him thanks.

**

Fur Elise is one of mom’s favorite pieces. When they’re still alive, dad played it almost every day for mom. The song was one of the difficult pieces that I’ve been encountered. I and Yuuri played it as duet. We played it really bad as we just amateur at that time. But I felt a sense of accomplishment as mom and dad smiled and clapped for my play. That’s one of the best moments craved in my memory.

As I hum, “I’m home~” Fur Elise echoed in our house. Ah~ it’s really nostalgic. I swiftly slip into my slippers and head to living room. Yuuri is sitting behind the piano.

Yuuri’s fingers dance over the keys beautifully. Years passed by and his play is getting better. Well, I can say not better than mine because he seldom practiced after mom and dad’s death. Meanwhile I practice almost every day since playing piano is one of my side jobs.

“Welcome back, Kei-chan,” he greets me as fingers still play, “Do you want to play together?”

I drop my bag beside bench and I take the right side of him. Being with Yuuri is one of the my favorite moment, he always knows my mood so he knows when to call me with his baby voice or to rest his head on my shoulder or just sits beside me in confortable silent. But of course, Yuuri has his owns. That lovely time must be exchanged with a lot of never-ending pats and demanding cuddles. But I don’t mind, this youngest Teshigawara is after all cute.

As our eyes meet, there’s small countdown in my brain and my fingers and Yuuri’s moves in the same time, same rhythm. Our fingers dance in the same movement as the tinkles echo in our house. Fur Elise.

“What’s happen?” I ask Yuuri.

Yuuri bits his lower lips with fingers not leaving the keys. I wonder how his play doesn’t change at all despite his expression tells anger, “Ryousuke.”

I snort in mocking way. Right, this guy only problem is Ryousuke, my other younger brother.

“Don’t you ever, even the slight second, on his side.”

I smile at him, “Sure.”

With that Yuuri throws his arm around my neck and nuzzles his nose there. I chuckle as his hair tickles my nose.

“You little spoiled brat.” Yuuri only murmurs faint Whatever, dickhead as response. We both chuckle as my fingers caress his hair.

“Have you done your job?” he asks after a while of silence, still cuddling my neck. The position is not really comfortable for me but I can tell that Yuuri is comfort enough. I shift a little but Yuuri paws my nose, telling I should stay still. This brat.

“Yeah, I just submitted it.” Now my neck is sore as Yuuri weights all of his head on my shoulder, “Yuuri, can we move to couch?”

This brat reluctantly moves as he pulls me. When my butt touches the couch, his head instantly flops on my laps. He looks for my hands and put it over his head, as a sign he wants pats.

“Keep your sarcasm, Kei-chan. I will forever love attention.”

I chuckle again. This is why I love Yuuri’s company.

Yuuri starts to ramble about his school life, today’s history quiz and the possibility of him as student council president. I tell him to go up for that. He says his rival is no other than Yuuto so he’s really thinking a lot about that. Yuuto works hard on his position and is a social butterfly too but since he’s clumsy and takes a lot time to do his job, the current president takes that into account.

“And why president choose you as candidate?”

“Because I’m highly efficient and have persuasive skill, especially to teachers. Sadly, I hate people.”

I nod, not agreeing with Yuuri but doubt his statement, whether it was said by the president or it’s just his self-praise.

“Keito‘s in student council too?”

Yuuri shakes his head, “He will be the next president of band club.”

There is silent again however it is not long since Yuuri opens his mouth again.

“By the way, Kei-chan…”

“Yes?”

“Have you made up with Kouta-niichan?”

I let out a sigh. Everyone in this house will nag me to death before I apologize to Kouta, yes?

“I will, later,” I say with heavy voice. Yuuri beams a smile and gives gentle pats on my cheeks.

“Good boy.”

I reply his smile and pat his head again as my eyes catch the glimpse of orange color of the sunset. Our living room and garden is separated by a huge sliding glass door, every evening the sun light escaped from the tiny spaces of the laces curtain and it creates beautiful shadow on the wooden floor.

My eyes are heavy and soon I follow Yuuri to lala land.
