Title: Did You Heard About the Teshigawara’s?
Rating: G
Notes: in Yuuri’s POV. AU. All member lives under the same house in the name of Teshigawara
A/N: Nothing special about this fanfic, really. Just the usual, boring daily life of normal family. So go to the others LJ if you like romance or angst better
Summary: A story from past where all the things begun.
I was born as Teshigawara youngest sibling. I have two older brothers whom love me very much. I was (and forever be) cute and squishy boy thus makes everyone pampers me a lot. As the youngest, I was pretty spoiled back then and I couldn’t deny I like the all attention I get.
Then there was this Shoji’s family, the closest friend of my parents. Our family and Shoji’s usually took turn to visit each other on weekend. We almost spent all weekend with them.
It was winter when the accident happened. Shoji’s couple went on short trip to Hokkaido to commemorate their wedding anniversary. Initially Hikaru-niisan and Ryousuke were included in trip too. However, Hikaru-niisan told their parents to have some quality time just both of them. Finally, Shoji’s couple agreed and sent both of them under my parents care.
We had very fun sleepover at that time. We played pillow fight and played video game until late. I still even remember the ghost story about neighborhood temple by Kouta-niichan. Everything went on the usual fun pattern. Nobody would expect the bad news that came on the morning.
Because of the slippery road, Shoji’s family car hit the wood fences hard and fell into cliff. The couple found dead when they evacuated the cars.
Ryousuke was the first one to burst in tears and then Hikaru-niisan. My brothers and I soon followed after. Five of us cried and cried until our voice hoarse and no more tears to shed.
After the funeral, my parents told three of us that Hikaru-niisan and Ryousuke would join our family from that day on. Shoji didn’t have any relatives to take care their children. If no one wanted to take care of them, they would be sent to orphanage. My parents really respected Shoji’s couple, that’s why they took Hikaru-niisan and Ryousuke in. They even changed their family name into Teshigawara, for the sake of easier paper works later on.
My parents loved both of them like they loved us. They gave them the guest room as their bedroom. My brothers were delighted to accept them. I’m not.
Ryousuke has low immune system. To put it simple, his sickness was changed according to season. He is allergic to sakura’s pollen, so in springs he couldn’t go anywhere near park or near those flower or he would sneezes all day. Under the high-heat summer, he nosebleeds a lot. In some cases, he caught summer-cold. During fall he is usually in good condition, just casual fever and influenza but he still can go to school. Winter is the problem. When the temperature reached single digit, he caught pneumonia easily. Not to mention he has asthma and anemia too.
See the problem? Ryousuke gets sick all the time and everyone give their attention to him. Those attentions that supposed to be belonged to me! Yeah, I was jealous and jealousy is ugly thing, really.
As I land my bottom on dining chair for the usual breakfast, Hikaru-niisan asks me to keep an eye on Ryousuke in school. We’re on the same class by the way. Hikaru-niisan asked the teachers to make it that way so he has someone to watch over his lovely brother. Keito and Yuuto are in the same school too but different class. He picked me among three of us to take care of Ryousuke! Seriously, I’ve never shown a slightest interest in taking care him but he fucking picked me!
I want to open my mouth and throw sarcastic comment so he will choose Yuuto or Keito instead. However, Kouta-niichan looks at me with his stern face. Ugh, I always hate that eye of his. It always reminds me of Father and Hakone accident. I avert my gaze to kitchen sink and nod in silence. I really wish Hikaru-niisan see my reluctant face.
Ten minutes later, the dining table is full. Even Daiki-niichan, the sleepy head, has occupied the last seat.
I mutter, “Thanks for the food” and shove the empty bowl aside. I take my history book. We have quiz today so I review the material. I don’t really focus on my book since Daiki-niichan invite the dining table to one of his gig. I bet it would be awesome. Well, I’ve ever been go to his gig once (secretly of course. I don’t want Kouta-niichan grounds me for a month) and I quite enjoy his music. He has talent.
After the whole fifteen minutes of provoking Keito to eat or not to eat his paprika, four of us get in to Hikaru-niisan’s SUV. Sometimes Hikaru-niisan drives us to school since our school is on the way to his hospital. In the road to school he is reciting the dos and don’ts for Ryousuke, to take his medicine on time and to call him anytime he feels uneasy. Ryousuke nods on his every words and tell him to not worry since he has me.
“Right, Yuuri?” he shifts on his chair as he faces me.
“Umm.. Well, yeah. Don’t worry too much Nii-san,” I add lazily, holding the urge to throw my middle finger to him.
Finally I close my book and put it on my bag, giving up to study in the car since Keito and Yuuto are bickering about the new single from One Ok Rock (or maybe Keito is bickering about it and Yuuto listens, wait not listens but watches Keito’s mouth rambling about it) and the two in front seat can’t stop the talk about anything they talk about. I have to make a note to buy another pair of headset when I went shopping.
I stare outside the car, seeing the school building slowly came closer.
Ah~ Good morning, World.
