Travels to Colorado
As my daughter sleeps in the double bed next me in our hotel room, I am reflecting on what an incredibly strong and brave litte (big) girl she is becoming!
As of yesterday we were headed to denver, co to visit my cousin & do a few fun things! We got to the airport early just to find out that all the things that have been said about Spirit Airlines on the internet is true! Our flight was cancelled! We needed to decide to take a morning flight the next day or get a refund and try another airline.
I took the rerfund & was sent to Delta as they had the next cheapest option. What the guy at the counter told was exactly true....the tickets were cheaper but the $400 he told me wasn't for (2) tickets....it was for (1). There is no way in hell I can afford to pay $900 (when all was said & done) for 1 flight leg.
So dragged my daughter BACK around the airport (we walked and it was not fun) to where we started and tried to see if we could get that morning flight.
Of course, that was booked so we took the next best thing...the same flight we had for the next day (july 4th). They did give us a hotel room near by (and I might say a very nice one...marriott lax) and a few bucks for dinner & lunch but I certainly would rather be in CO right now.
Well after we booked our flight for today, Charlotte looked at me & said "momma...see its not the end of the world!" And she was SO excited we got to stay in a hotel room....she said its like being on vacation on vacation! Such a cutie and I really needed her. Of course because I was crying like a baby the entire day. I as SO upset (I'm really a sensative & emotional gal).
So ryan and ethan had stayed in the area and met us at the hotel. We all went to dinner together (NOT at the hotel..too expensive) and they dropped us off and left for their fun evening with our friends R & N (europe friends).
So now its 6am and I've had @ 9 hours sleep....which I never get so I'm greatful for...and I'm wide awake while my princess is asleep on the bed to my left.
All of this sucks....we miss the dodger/rockies game tonight & probably some pretty amazing fire works....the game chuck was most looking forward to! But she kept focusing on The Avett Bros concert....knowing that if we miss that mommy will be really sad!
I've got a truly special little girl and I'm feeling pretty good @ her up bringing right now!
Well....we will see if we get off today! We have 2 more days until the concert! If things look bad today I don't know what to do. At this point I could drive but would rather fly. We c what happens!
