We've made it a month

Nico's been with us a month now, and things between him and Mollie are ... well, they have their ups and downs. Nico is bound and determined to make friends; Mollie is bound and determined to be left alone. We'll see who wins that one.

Last night, Nico started drinking out of Mollie's water dish, and she went up to him. We thought he was about to get whacked across the room. Instead, she just sniffed at him for a while and walked off. All evening, she only gave him two soft hisses. However, later on when Nico was in the bathroom for the night, Tom brought Mollie into the bedroom so she could lie on his stomach and be petted - which she normally loves. Last night, though, she growled and hissed as if Nico had jumped on top of her, and then hopped off the bed and left the room in a snit. Can't figure her out.

Meanwhile, Nico is in a "biting things is fun!" stage. Unfortunately, that includes human flesh. He hasn't learned yet that our feet (and fingers, faces, etc) aren't chew toys. Pulling our feet away doesn't work; he thinks it's part of the game. Anyone have suggestions to curb this behavior?

And now ... cats on laps!

Nico engages in the art of chewing his own foot off.

Nom, nom, nom ...

"What?"

"And lift and stretch and lift and stretch ..."

As they say on Cute Overload: dig the kitteh tongue ak-SHUN!

Of course, Mollie's still getting plenty of attention:

"Ahh, yeah. That's the spot, right there."

mollie, nico
