Awaiting the windshield
So the auto glass repair shop is coming by my office today to replace my windshield. This is very good news indeed. They're on Cable Company Standard Time, though, and will show up sometime between now and 5:00pm.
Problem is, I managed to not bring lunch today, and I have a sneaking suspicion that if I leave to get anything, that will be when they arrive. (If I don't, they'll get here at 4:59.) Naturally, this seems to be the one day that none of my co-workers are going anywhere for food, so I can't just give them money for a sandwich.
I'm contemplating leaving the car here and walking to a nearby deli, but I don't know if they'd be able to just repair the windshield without me present to authorize/pay for the work.
I called the glass company, but they couldn't get hold of the technician to get an ETA from him. They did ask him to call me, though.
Meanwhile, maybe I can get something edible from the lunch truck when it gets here. There's always hope ...
