Does anyone know a formula that would tell me how much force would be needed for two objects in motion in space to collide and have either one or both objects become at rest? For example, two ping pong balls in space are zooming across the galaxy, and colide. One or both of them ceases motion. How much force would be needed for this to occur? (i never took physics-is there a way to solve this?)
