Love

I don't celebrate Valentine's Day, but as I'm sitting here "stuck" at my parents house with Teagan and both parents, I thought I'd send out a little love to all of my LJ friends.

I'm grateful to have made it safely to my parents' last night. I almost didn't make it out of the driveway (which Matt now reports, "We used to have a driveway, now we have white") but the roads yesterday afternoon were passable. The absolute scariest were the two roads into my folks neighborhood. They live near the Cuyahoga Valley Conservation area. You can imagine "valleys" are not the optimal place to be driving during a winter storm. The hill down was a little treacherous. I went slow and the antilock brakes were working overtime as I tried to stay on the road and pray no one would be coming the other direction, but there were cars at the bottom of the hill heading up. But that hill (if you've ever been to my parents know) is nothing compared to climb UP to my parents street. I could smell the rubber burning on my tires as I was almost at a standstill while trying to drive up the hill without heading off the road. Someone passed me on the way up the hill so I think it must be our tires combined with ice/snow/sludge built up in the tire wells from the rest of the drive. I made it. I thought I was going to have to put it in reverse or try to pull into someone's driveway. I'm glad I stayed. I'm glad I'm here. I wouldn't want to sit at home with Teagan over here. I love my parents. I trust them to the fullest extent, but I can't imagine being apart from her during this. Matt's home with the doggies so they are attended too. So all is as it should be and I was still able to have my internet date to play backgammon last night. :) Thanks Jeff for being patient through the hiccups.

Well, as I said. Sitting on computer thinking of all my lovelies all over the world and just wanted to send a little love your way!

Thank you for all you do in my life. I don't post often, but I read daily. Thank you for sharing your lives. I am grateful for all of you.
