Happy Mothers Day, Moms on Ye Olde Flist! I'm thinking especially of those of you for whom this will be your first Mother's Day ever as an actual Mom. Blessings and restful days to all of you.
azriona, I am thinking of you also, because I spend all day with boys just a little bit older than yours, and... you could use blessings and a restful day, too!
Part the first: Writing
So,
katmorning and I declared Leaven of Malice worthy of querying earlier this week, and I have gone at it with my usual level of enthusiasm about this kind of thing: sheer panic. I have a plan in place. I am implementing the plan. But what if nobody likes me it? Surely the world will come to an end.
Although, honestly? If I don't get an agent, I'll probably just put this one away and work on the next. Once I talk myself out of the funk that will ensue.
Part the second: Real Life stuff
So, I've mentioned before that my brother is getting married to my best friend from middle/high school. I'm throwing the bridal shower. Y'all. This party-planning stuff is expensive. Or rather, doing the way I want to do it is expensive. I can afford it, it just means making some sacrifices, but the look on her face will totally be worth it, I think.
Work's been going well for me! Parent teacher conferences were generally positive -- I always forget how relieved parents are to hear that, you know... three doesn't last forever and the challenges that drive you crazy now won't be around in two or three years. They had nice things to say about me, too, which was good.
Part the third: Future plans
I'm going to be out of the folks' house by December and into my own apartment. I will have purchased a car by then. And then hopefully in January I can go back to school to finish my music degree, since that's the kind of job that would make me excited about waking up in the morning.
What's up with you guys?
