Oh, this is gorgeous! I love what you've done with all three dyads (well, sort of, since it's not this Doctor with Rose at the start). It's a gorgeous dream/subconscious conversation all the same, and while I loved the Doctor giving Rose permission to break his hearts I loved even more Rose telling him that she wanted the Doctor and Jack to be happy together after she was gone. Always thinking of the people she loves. :(

Jack and the Doctor, always preferring when they have things to do, of course, competent and determined together, only to break down once they've got to their destination and realise that they don't know what to do next. Of course, neither of them would have a long heart-to-heart with the other, but the brief one they do have is meaningful and heartbreaking. Poor Jack!

And then Jack with Rose, doing his best to cheer her up, flirt with her and make her feel good even when his heart is breaking. I love that they dropped the act at the end and admitted how they were feeling, and most of all that Rose offered comfort. Perfect!

Thank you so much for continuing to work on this when I know your writing time is so limited and it's causing you stress.

That's one thing I love about Rose -- that her concern for the Doctor and Jack always outweighs any concerns she may have for herself. I'm glad you enjoyed that scene because I had fits about deciding whether to keep it in or not -- I wasn't sure whether it fit in with the rest of the story, but I'm glad I did, now.

I think Jack and the Doctor BOTH are exceedingly more comfortable when there's something to do -- an alien invasion to stop or a drug to administer or what have you. The fact that they might not be able to do anything -- that they might have to submit to this force that's larger than them, I think it's really breaking them inside. Especially given where all the characters are, emotionally, right now. (Lord, I'm evil.)

I LOVE that scene with Jack and Rose, I really do. It took me back to writing "Companions", in Evolution of Rose. There's something about that relationship that I just find incredibly intriguing.

Thank YOU for your patience with me. I know I've been a touch unreliable and unpredictable, so thanks for putting up with that.
