So, I started coming down with a cold or sinus infection on Thursday night which developed over Friday, so I went to the workshop in Asheville not feeling my best. It was, nevertheless, a fabulous workshop, especially the sword portion… I now know where to buy those fabulous scimitars all the tribal folks use! It was great getting sword from Zi’ah’s perspective, with the tribal bent on interpreting music and also different stylings. I opted to drive home directly afterwards, though, and skip the hafla, which for my health’s sake was the best thing I could have done. I got home, went to the grocery store, and then came home and drank a bunch of orange juice.
Sunday I felt better, especially after 3 cups of coffee with my new fancy-dancy coffee maker (a
Keurig B-60! There was a special promotion with Green Mountain Coffee and I got a $200 machine for $50!!!!). I finally got off my rear end at about 1pm and became productive- did laundry, cleaned the kitchen. I finally finished breaking up the concrete sidewalk- yea!- and also hand sawed down a mature shrubbery and a small cedar (or juniper?) tree- not bad, but even a 4” trunk is difficult to saw by hand with a little 18” saw. I am really hoping the weather gets warmer this week- this is my break week in between sessions I am teaching, so I get tonight off, and I need to still pick up all the rocks in the landscaping and then strip off the sod. I think the hardest thing this weekend was shoveling a dead bird into a garbage bag. YUCK. But I got it done! I also finally trimmed up my rosemary bush in the front yard. It is still ungainly, but at least less so… and hopefully I haven’t killed it, LOL!
My sister is making Ma-Po Tofu tonight so I am going to mooch off of her and go there to eat dinner at 6:30 or so. Chaz is still in Atlanta with
supergoober and
droid18, so it’s just me and the kitties.
Oh, I have also fallen in love with a doggie… a greyhound no less and I never thought I’d want to adopt a greyhound. I am biting my tongue because I really want to put in an application for her but I know Chaz doesn’t want to look at doggies til during GARF or just after… Her name is Quick, you can see her picture at
Here and scroll down to see the females (near the bottom of the page). I want her!!!!!!
Ok, off to lunch…
Oh! And the BENISE tickets have been purchased... $40 each. :)
